Ideal Candidates
Candidates for Ultherapy® treatment experience mild-to-moderate skin laxity (sagging) in the chest, neck, and lower face, but are not ready to undergo surgical treatment. Patients should be in good general health and have realistic expectations. Ultherapy® will not stop the natural aging process, but it can slow it down. This procedure is not designed for those with severe tissue laxity, who may benefit more from a surgical procedure. How It Works
Ultherapy® uses ultrasound energy to heat the tissues in the target area, coagulating proteins and stimulating the body’s healing responses. As the body heals, it begins producing higher levels of rejuvenating collagen and elastin. The device can precisely target the layers of skin and tissue that need lifting without causing damage to the outer layers of skin.By targeting various depths (1.5 mm, 3.0 mm, and 4.5 mm), Ultherapy® can treat both the superficial layers and the deep foundational layers of the skin that are addressed in surgical facelifts. The ideal depth is dependent on the patient’s cosmetic goals and the severity of their condition.
Recovery and Results Ultherapy® is a non-invasive treatment, so there is no downtime required. You can return to your daily activities immediately after your procedure. While many patients see results after just one treatment, multiple sessions may be recommended depending on the degree of skin laxity and the areas being addressed. You may experience some slight tenderness, tingling, or redness after your Ultherapy® treatment, but these will resolve quickly. The longevity of your results will depend on your body’s healing response. You can prolong your youthful appearance by leading a healthy lifestyle, practicing proper sun protection, and not smoking.
